Winter's Ending

Well, today it's in the 70's, so I think I can officially say winter's coming to a close here in Alaska. The days are passing quickly and Fairbanks and firefighting don't seem far away. This is a picture I took earlier this week: one last glimpse of the arctic. Y'all take care now.

Everything we were is no more, and what we will become, will become what was.

  1. It seems to get harder to not see you - and I am not alone! But I am excited for your summer and also for this whole great experience.

    I love you,

  2. I find it extremely ironic that Fairbanks, Alaska is not, in fact, populated with "banks". I think, possibly, Sitka has more "banks" then Fairbanks, merely because Sitka is on the coast and Fairbanks is land-locked.

Out of curiosity, what was your favorite part about your time in Sitka?

  3. Fairbanks is on the Yukon, which in fact has several thousand miles of riverbank. Sitka doesn't really have any "banks", but does have plenty of "shores". Anyway, Sitka is a great place in general, but I would have say the mountains are my favorite part.

Mama, I love and miss you much more than you know. I'll be heading home soon, don't you fret.
