Vocabulary

Here's a taste of Sitkan lingo...

Skookum - Native word implying general awesomeness
Sopped-In - Thick marine fog
Blowin' - Tropical storm force winds
Muktuk - Frozen whale skin and blubber, quite the feast
Halibut - Flounder-like fish, "the steak of the sea"
Kû'cta-qa - Tlingit legend, half man/half otter
